Hear what Mr. Chang has to say:
The black man is just there. He is looking for someone to blame for his plight yet he is more indifferent to his people than others are. The black man does not care for his people. He is looking for help from outside. He does not count in our equation. We as Asians, we give love to the Asian man. We want him to be happy. We want him to be educated. We will give him a job over a black man or anyone else. Why should it be otherwise? Our real struggle is against the European. We have a long history where he dominated us. Our challenge is to be better than them and so we make heavy investment in education. We want to be better than the white man. We want to change the equation. The black man is just here.
Does anyone doubt that they have already changed the equation? Asian cars are the best selling all over the world. Toyota has maintained number one for several years in the United States. Asian radios dominate the world. 98% of all kitchen appliances are made in Asia. The biggest ship building company is in Asia. Asia has the biggest hydro dam in the world. They have the most sophisticated rail system in the world. Did I mention that they also loan money to the rest of the world including the United States? If China were to call in all her loans to the US and Europe today, the world economy would come to a standstill.
Can we make the black man count? Yes we can. Nigeria holds the key to the progress of the black race just as Japan led the way for Asia. A country or race does not get respect through agitation. You earn it. Nigeria must lead the way and the place to begin is by electing good leadership, a leadership that cares more for its people than it cares for its pocket. There is no single Asian country as endowed with mineral resources as Nigeria, none. The only reason we are backward is because we, our leaders have never cared for their people. We must strive to join hands to build a Nigeria that cares, a Nigeria that works for everyone and not just for the few. We must expand opportunities through more inclusive policies and massive investment in education and infrastructure. There is simply no other way to go. You must go out and register to vote and take your friends with you. That is the ground game and that is how we, the people are going to win, this time.
